Since the age of eight when I published my first newspaper (handwritten, with a circulation of 20), I’ve loved being a journalist.

Beginning my professional journey in 2012, I completed a foundational internship with the New York public art organization, Creative Time. Working in their Global Initiatives Department, I assisted in preparing the launch of Creative Time Reports, an online publication where artists from around the world reported on local news stories from their vantage points. My love of international news deepened in this role, which showed me how to creatively report on global events.

After finishing my bachelor’s degree in art history and environmental studies at Macalester College in Minnesota and a brief stint in West Texas, I moved to Alaska for work, where I lived and traveled across the state for five years. I eventually went back to school to pursue my passion for international journalism. Venturing into audio, I worked as a co-producer of The Gender Knot podcast, while completing my master’s degree at City, University of London. I've done work experience with The Press Association, been an investigative tech reporter for Point + Engadget, and done freelance reporting for other news outlets, including as a Senior Contributor for Forbes, covering the art world and cultural start-ups in Europe.

Currently, I’m a radio host, producer, and journalist for Deutsche Welle’s weekly environmental radio program and podcast, Living Planet. I also produce episodes for the BBC World Service’s CrowdScience as a freelancer. In 2022, I produced an episode of the podcast Out There – ‘America’s Best Idea?’ – which won an International Women’s Podcast Award for Changing the World One Moment at a Time.
