Fighting with Fire: James Nachtwey's Inferno and contemporary war photography

In my senior capstone for art history, I looked at the work of James Nachtwey's Inferno. His war photography, whether on a magazine page or in an art exhibition, refutes much of contemporary visual theory. It rejects notions of compassion fatigue, image fetishism, and the voyeurism of violence.
